President of Russia Vladimir Putin and President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan chat on the telephone. Both of them urged that the war in the Middle East be immediately ceasefired.
Reported by the AFP news agency, the two spoke on the telephone today, Friday (3/4/2026). The Kremlin said the two talked about war in the Middle East.
The Kremlin said the two agreed to urge an immediate ceasefire in the Middle East. Both also mentioned the importance of the peace agreement.

“The leaders noted their shared position on the need for an immediate ceasefire and the development of a compromise peace agreement that takes into account the legitimate interests of all countries in the region,” the statement said.
“It has been noted that intensive military actions lead to serious negative consequences not only at the regional but also global level, including in the fields of energy, trade and logistics,” the Kremlin added.
The escalation of conflict in the Middle East has continued since Israel and the US launched attacks on Iran on February 28, killing more than 1,340 people to date, including the then Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Iran retaliated with drone and missile attacks targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq and Gulf states hosting US military assets, causing casualties and damage to infrastructure and disrupting global markets and aviation.
