Speaking on his podcast on Thursday, Carlson commented on Trump’s remarks in which the president threatened to bomb Iran down to the “stone age” without providing a firm timetable for a ceasefire while urging other countries to “take the lead” in unblocking the Strait of Hormuz – a strategic point that accounts for about 20% of global oil trade.
However, Washington’s NATO allies were reluctant to step in after the US-Israeli attack on Iran.
Carlson argued that “the country that enforces peace is the country that rules,” adding that “the country that enforces order in the Persian Gulf, that opens the Strait of Hormuz, is the country that runs the world by definition.”
