Jakarta –
The government is building new houses for residents along the railroad tracks in the Senen area who were relocated at the end of last month. A total of 324 families were moved to houses measuring 4.5 x 4.5 meters.
During a visit by the Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) together with the Head of the BUMN Management Agency (BP) Dony Oskaria in the Senen area, the BUMN construction representative, namely Hutama Karya, explained that the replacement house to be built would consist of 1 room with 2 beds and a cupboard.
“One house measures 4.5×4.5 meters. Only one room, sir. It is only equipped with 2 beds and a wardrobe and a fan,” said one Hutama Karya representative, as quoted from an upload by PKP Minister Maruarar Sirait @maruararsirait on Saturday (3/4/2026).

The land used for the construction of the house belongs to Angkasa Pura covering an area of 5,600 square meters. Of the 324 units to be built, the residential location will be divided into two parts. Between these residences there will be an open space for a children’s playground. Each house will also get water from PDAM and electricity.
“The land area is 5,600 square meters. At this location we plan to build 172 units and the front area will be 152 units, a total of 324 units. Under the conditions, the mosque here will not be demolished, and here is a park for children,” he explained.
Head of the BUMN Management Agency (BP) Dony Oskaria revealed that the 342 residences will be completed on June 15 2026.
“So it will be completed on June 15. We start today, the target is 2.5 months,” he said.
In a written statement, Dony said that the construction of this residence would involve a number of state-owned construction companies, such as Hutama Karya, PP and WIKA.
“Today, according to our promise yesterday, we are starting the residential construction process. There are teams from Hutama Karya, PP, and WIKA working. We have deployed approximately 470 people to this location. Our completion target is June 15 2026 and can be immediately handed over to residents who need it,” said Dony.
After the Senen area, the next locations are Tanah Abang and Kampung Bandan this weekend.
“Later on Sunday at 3 pm, Pak Doni and I will meet on land owned by the Railways in Tanah Abang and Kampung Bandan. This shows that the state is present, BUMN is present, and there is support from various parties including the Regional Government of DKI Jakarta in licensing. This is a good collaboration in accordance with President Prabowo Subianto’s direction so that we work quickly so that residents who live along the railway can immediately occupy decent housing,” he explained.
