Roberto DeZerbi tasked with carrying Tottenham Hotspur hang on Premier League in the remaining seven games of the season. However, if this target fails, he ensures that he will stay at the club from north London.
De Zerbi was announced as Spurs coach earlier this week. He is the Lilywhites’ third tactician this season after Thomas Frank and Igor Tudor.
The Italian coach arrived at a bad time for Spurs. Apart from being eliminated in various competitions, performance in the Premier League is currently down. They only sit in 17th place in the standings with 30 points.

Usually, coaches who arrive during a period like this will be assigned until the end of the season first to ensure the team escapes the relegation zone. However, De Zerbi dared to take a five-year contract. He promised to stay even if Spurs dropped to the Championship division next season.
“I watched a lot of matches, especially in the last period. I know the players very well. This is a difficult moment for everyone at Tottenham. I think we have the right quality to get through this moment,” said De Zerbi, quoted by Sky Sports.
“I believe in the players. I think we have to remember who we are and who the players are because we have great players and have to increase their confidence.”
“I accepted this challenge because I really believe in the players. Tottenham’s style and history is a very clear type of game. Once this season is finished, I think we can create a great future.”
“I signed a five-year contract because this is a big challenge. I will be Tottenham coach next season, whatever happens,” stressed De Zerbi.
