Man City manager, Pep Guardiola, revealed that his team’s focus has now shifted to the FA Cup after winning the Carabao Cup. He considers matches in the FA Cup to be as important as those in the Premier League.
The FA Cup match is an opportunity to measure the strength of The Citizens. Guardiola also wants to bring Man City to a record eight consecutive years of reaching the FA Cup semi-finals by beating Liverpool.
“It’s better and more fun to win another title. This is not the most prestigious title, but in fact this is another opportunity to play against the best teams in Europe. Apart from the Premier League and Champions League. It is a good test against a good team,” said Guardiola, quoted on the Man City website.
“We finish one match and think about the next. Tomorrow we have the opportunity to make another incredible milestone – eight semi-finals in a row,” he explained.
